Blast off!
This week, the children had a very exciting start to their Science lesson with Ms Walsh. They watched the launch of Artemis 1 and had fun thinking about what it would be like to be an astronaut. The children were very excited to think that humans may be back on the moon by 2025.
During RE, we have been learning about Judaism. The children listened to the story of Abraham. They learnt that he put his trust in God who in return kept his promise to him. Afterwards, they used collage to represent this story. We also shared the story about Moses, and learnt how God trusted him to lead the Jewish people to freedom.
As we begin our journey through Advent, our new RE topic on ‘Waiting’ will help the children to prepare to remember the birth of Jesus.
This week in the forest, the children had lots of fun making tents. They cooperated well within a team and achieved in making some very impressive tents.
During our topic work, the children have been finding out about the lives of the Inuit people who live in the Arctic. They have also been using chalks to create fabulous pictures of the Northern Lights.
We are continuing with our English text, ‘Who Lives Here’. The children have been writing sentences using capital letters, full stops and finger spaces in their work. Next week, the children will be sequencing events to form a recount.
In Maths, the children have been ‘Finding the Difference’ which involves finding out how many numbers are between two given numbers. They have been using objects and uni-fix cubes to help them to use their counting on or counting back skills.
Enjoy the weekend!
