Our Catholic School

We place Christ at the centre of all that we do and offer all things to God.

We are a Voluntary Aided Catholic school under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Westminster. Our mission in serving the local Catholic parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes in Harpenden, St Thomas More in Wheathampstead, and St John Fisher in Redbourn is to provide Catholic education and spiritual and moral teaching to the children in our care. Religious education is at the core of everything we do. We dedicate 10% of our curriculum time to the teaching of RE and are following 'To know You more clearly', the new Religious Education Directory (RED).

Collective acts of worship for the whole school occur four times a week, with individual classes leading their own act of worship on the remaining day. Our parish priest is a regular visitor to the school. We celebrate Mass together each half term, both in school and at Our Lady of Lourdes. Additionally, prayer is important at all times, both collectively and individually.

We are very proud of our distinctive Catholic ethos which is underpinned by our mission statement:

'If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ'

All Saints Catholic Academy Trust (ASCAT)

Formed in 2016, as part of the Diocese of Westminster's Academy Strategy, we provide a collaborative structure of school support and innovation for Catholic schools in South West Hertfordshire. Our vision of an 'Outstanding Education for All' comes from this desire to enable all members of school communities to flourish and succeed and to do all that we can to make our schools places where ambition for all is at the heart of everything that we do.
