Year 6 - World Book Day - The Magic of Reading
Year 6 were thoroughly immersed into the world of words this week during our celebration of the 22nd Annual World Book Day.
We began our day with a workshop from Professor Pango Mango; his interactive drama workshops allowed us to explore poetry and the power of words. Through one particular poem, we were shown just how wonderful the world of words can be.
Throughout the day we shared some “Year 6 Recommended Reads” with our classmates; we redesigned the cover of our favourite texts, which will be collated into a book and placed in the library to help us select our next text.
We also watched some of the digital events led by authors, who spoke about the inspiration behind their stories and how a love of reading fed into their writing.
