Year 6 - DT – Pie Making 15.06. 22
As part of their food technology unit, Year 6 have been learning about different types of seasonal food and the importance of this. Year 6 then spent time researching the nutritional value in pies and what flavour combinations they would like to make. They began with weighing and measuring ingredients for the pastry and discussed the seasonal vegetables available to them. Following this, they chopped and prepared their vegetables and herbs/seasoning before rolling out the dough, placing their filling inside and folding over to create a wrapped parcel. Year 6 were so excited to take home their delicious vegetable pies to share with their families and eat for dinner!
