Spring term - Welcome back!

Welcome back to a new term. We wish you all a very Happy New Year. The children have all settled back into the Nursery routines and we have started our new topic ‘Tell us a Story’ and explored the season of Winter. Although we haven’t really had  any true British winter weather, just lots of rain!  We have listened to some wintry stories, decorated winter hats and scarves, started to make our own special snow globes and practised singing a new winter song.

 In RE we started a new topic on Celebrating. On the first day of term we had a little party in nursery and played some games and drew some pictures of our ideas of things we would find at a celebration. 

 A new year wedding!

This week we thought about how we celebrate as a church family. We held  a wedding in nursery and here are some pictures of the big day!  Some children designed the wedding cake and others made a beautiful wedding card.  We all took part in the service and sang beautifully.

We enjoyed our first PE session with Mr Simmonds and Rose led the children in their very first Forest School session of 2023.

In Maths we focussed on exploring circles. First of all, we noticed and discussed where circles occur in nature, art and everyday life. We considered how we know something is a circle. The children’s talk  led them to discover that a circle has no beginning and no end and is a continuous curved line.
