St Dominic Catholic Primary

If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

A Jolly Good Time!

Well, what a way to end our half term! On Thursday, we had lots of fun celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. After a fantastic assembly, where we waved our flags and sang the national anthem, the children got creative in the classroom making incredible crowns. Well done to Elodie and Jack for winning the crown making competition. We finished our special day with afternoon tea. It was certainly a day we will all remember.

If that wasn't enough, on Friday we travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt. The children came to school dressed in the most fabulous of costumes. From Pharaohs to Egyptologists, they all looked brilliant! Our day was led by a gentleman from History Off The Page. He was very knowledgeable and great fun! The children spent their day making items used in Ancient Egyptian times and later, performed entertainments for the Pharaoh and his wife! It was a wonderful way to celebrate this half term's learning in our topic work.

Please enjoy looking at a few photos taken during the week:

We wish you all a very happy half term break and look forward to seeing you back in school on Tuesday 7th June.
