If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

Year 5 have been doing some space travelling in the last few weeks. In history, we zoomed back in time (as we do) to take a look at man’s first step on the moon. Capturing that moment in time was surreal yet captivating. They watched as Neil Armstrong took his first step and declared to the world ‘One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’ - a profound statement which we uncovered as ‘my parents' ceiling will be my floor.’

As a direct result of this history making experience, the children, determined to use their imaginations, have landed on a planet called Zorbitron (completely made up). It is exciting to see the creativity and uniqueness in the descriptions of their experiences as they have explored. Some have implemented the couplets that they have used in our RE lessons.  Whilst some have drawn from their experiences of watching the renowned STAR WARS. Many have applied different types of writing styles like a play script, poetry and speech. The children worked in pairs and presented their work to the entire class. It was fun! Have a look at what they wrote.
