Paddington's Travels!
The children have had a lovely time exploring our new topic, Paddington’s Passport. Through our topic work, the children have been finding out where Paddington came from, and have begun finding information out about Peru.
During our English lessons, the children used adjectives to describe Paddington Bear. They have also been working hard to write letters to Aunt Lucy telling her that he arrived safely in England. Next week, the focus will be writing a postcard to tell Aunt Lucy more about the adventures he is having with the Brown family.
In Maths lessons, we have been been revisiting ‘thinking 10’ when solving additions and using the cherry model to record answers. We have also been completing subtraction number sentences. The children have been counting back using a number line or finding the difference between the two numbers. There are links below of subtraction games that your child may like to play at home.

The focus this week in RE has been to recognise what a ‘Holyday’ is. The children looked at images of different Holy days and then had to match the correct label to the Holy Day picture. At home, you may like to discuss a particular Holyday that is special to your family with your child.
During Science, the children began by observing, describing and comparing plants, seeds and bulbs. Afterwards, they made observational drawings of a plant and labelled the parts.
Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
