May 2022 in Year 5
After our fantastic, exciting trip to Alton Castle, there were a few tired faces after the bank holiday weekend. Thankfully, everybody is fully recovered and the class performed a wonderful assembly to both the parents and KS1 and KS2. They put a tremendous effort into their preparation for this and we were extremely impressed with their thespian skills.
This last week, the children have taken some practice assessments in class and we have been very pleased with their results and the progress shown. The class have worked hard this year and they can be very pleased with their achievements.
On May 27th, we are looking forward to our Egyptian Day which will be led by a tutor from History off the Page. It should be a great day, learning additional information that will complement our "Walk like an Egyptian" topic, and it will bring this topic to a close. The topic has been tremendous fun and the children are excited to be soon making Egyptian death masks. The end results will be a fantastic accolade to their prior learning.
We are looking forward to the opening of our new running track and the Platinum Jubilee celebrations that will bring this half term to a close. It has been a very busy half term, with many exciting opportunities. The children will enjoy a well earned rest when half term arrives.
Best wishes
Mrs Ward-Tsang and Mrs Luckhurst
