Law and Order
As part of our new topic 'Law and Order', we have been thinking about these key questions:
What is democracy?
Who rules Britain?
Why do we need good leaders?
In Year 4, we have discussed the importance of having rules and laws. Without laws people would be able to do whatever they wanted to and might harm others. Laws protect our rights and ensure that we carry out our responsibilities. Most people obey our laws. However, we thought about what happens to people when they are suspected of breaking the law. Sometimes laws seem unfair and need to be changed. We have considered how the government is constantly changing and making new laws in the Houses of Parliament.
We have learnt about the main political parties in the House of Commons and how they are elected.
