Holiday Time!
Cannot quite believe we have completed the first half-term in Year 1 already. The children have worked extremely hard and have progressed well in all areas of the curriculum. It was lovely to see so many parents at the consultations this week and catch up on your child’s progress.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed their outdoor learning experience in the ‘Forest School’. Whilst there, they have listened to the story of The Hungry Caterpillar and selected seven conkers for each day of the week to create their own caterpillars.
They have been thinking about how to keep the forest safe and used clay to create their own little ‘Forest Keepers’.
The children have also had fun recreating minibeasts using natural objects and matching leaves.
Through the Science topic, the children have been thinking about what plants need to grow. They planted spring bulbs in the autumn and will be observing them growing throughout the winter.
Today, the children have been given their login details for Numbots. This is an online Maths platform for boosting children’s addition and subtraction skills. Please take time to explore this over half-term with your child. If you have any problems logging in then please let me know.
Thank you for your support this half-term and enjoy a well-earned rest in the holidays.
