On Thursday, Year 5 marked Outdoor Classroom Day (a global event) by taking time to explore our school grounds and experience the beauty of autumn. The children closely examined leaves and identified some of the trees in our grounds. For fun, the children looked for the biggest leaf they could find and, back in the classroom, we measured and compared them. Later in the day, the children returned outside and collected all sorts of natural materials. Using sticks for a frame, each pair created a picture. The children really impressed me with their creativity and teamwork skills. Below are some of their collages for you to enjoy looking at.
