British Science Week
It’s British Science Week - the theme this year is ‘Growth’. To celebrate, throughout the week, we have been exploring the theme of growth through a range of activities. On Monday, the children took part in digging over the area which will become our school wild flower meadow. The children will need to be patient to see what happens to this area over the next few months. We have observed how the bulbs we planted in the autumn have grown. The crocuses and daffodils are in full bloom and the tulips are not far off. We have also planted our own cress, salad and peas seeds. We know what seeds need to grow and will check on our seeds each day.
We have read the story ‘Once Their Were Giants’. The story illustrates growing up and the circle of life. The children have talked about how people grow and how much we have grown since starting Nursery. We have measured each child with a piece of ribbon and they then used the ribbon to compare the length of different objects to see which was longer and shorter.
Have a lovely weekend,
Amanda Corcoran and the Nursery team
