St Dominic Catholic Primary

If we live by truth and in love, we shall grow in Christ

Bikeability Week

A big well done to the children for taking part in Bikeability Week.  They had a lot of exercise and fresh air this week and the weather was kind to Year 5 throughout the course.

This week was also Judasim Week and the children had the privilege of attending an online assembly with Rabbi Adam who leads a local synagogue in St Albans.  His assembly was so interesting and we got a much better insight into the Jewish faith.

We have begun to design Totem Poles as part of our work on America.  We have also learned about the discovery of America and how Christopher Columbus believed he had arrived in India! Thank goodness we have Sat Navs nowadays!  In Science, the children are starting a new topic on Forces and we are also starting our Advent topic "Hope" in RE lessons.

The term is flying by and this week we will be making Christmas decorations for our school Christmas tree.  It's hard to believe that we are about to start the liturgical season of Advent.

Best wishes, only 34 sleeps until Christmas!
