Autumn
In Science (Understanding of the World) we have been learning about Autumn. We decided to make the most of the Autumn sunshine last Thursday and went on a walk around the school grounds, talking about and photographing what we could see, hear, smell and feel.
This week we've been reading the story of The Little Red Hen. We enjoyed using masks to re tell the story. We loved joining in with the 'Not I' and 'I shall do it myself' lines! The Nursery children had a fabulous time making and eating toast. They carefully used a knife to spread butter onto the toasted bread.
In Art we have been using our eyes to explore what happens when we mix colours. We listened to the story 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?' and then had fun mixing together different colours. We have made a display of these in the classroom.
Thank you for the wonderful donation of seeds, bulbs and plants. All of the children have enjoyed planting activities this week. Our garden is looking colourful and we hope to see a lovely display of bulbs next Spring.
Here are some photos of our recent physical development activities.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Corcoran and the Nursery team
