Sign Language!

We were lucky to have a visitor this week. Ami came into the class to talk to the children about how life is as a deaf person. She taught them how to use sign language for basic greetings and names. The children were enthusiastic and asked lots of questions. 

In English we have been writing diary entries in the role of a character from the class book. The children are focussing on using powerful verbs and conjunctions for effect.

The children have adjusted well to the new reading scheme. The link to do quizzes from home has been emailed to you this week. I will be sending two reading books home for the holiday. 

In RE we are learning about the symbols associated with baptism. Thank you for the photographs you sent in. 

The homework set this week is for two weeks. Please let your child have a well deserved rest over half term.
